I am running Mageia 2 64-bit (KDE) on a Thinkpad W500 with 8GB RAM. This laptop has switchable graphics, but I have those turned off and am using the integrated graphics card only. This is an Intel 4500MHD card. This problem does not occur when I use the Discrete ATI card; however using that card severely dimishes my battery life, so I'd prefer to use the integrated card. I have a triple boot system that includes Linux Mint KDE 12. This problem does not occur in Mint, even using the integrated card. But I'd much prefer to use Mageia as I've been a longtime Mandriva/Mageia fan. And for the most part it seems more stable and better suited for me.
I'm not sure what information I can give to help troubleshoot, but I'll at least give the relevant output from lspci. If there's any more information I can give please let me know. I'll willing to try anything. And hopefully I posted this in the right place.
BTW: I am using Kwin. I have tried turning on/off "Use OpenGL 2 Shaders", and also tried Compiz. Additionally, I've also tried turning off *all* effects. No luck.
Thank you!
Jeff
