Both booted to a working desktop on my Dell Vostro 1015 laptop.

But, thanks!!!!
Maybe this is connected with bug: 4997 (Problem with the DVD player / recorder,it is always still inaccessible). I had similar troubles in B2 or 3 but they were resolved with updates.isadora wrote:K3b (could not find burning-device, will take some closer look, but do not really worry for this is the case in a virtual machine)

After first reboot updates were offered right away:

Changed options in selection-menu in software-management to: "All/All" instead of "Packages with GUI/All".
Disabled medium "core media" from media-configuration.
Because for installing VMWare Tools, Dolphin was needed right away.
Don't remember this was the case in earlier releases, but no menu was to be found.
This was easily worked around by issuing "Ctrl+M", which brought back my so beloved menu.
Checked whether my most used programs were starting without errors:
Firefox, Konversation, KTorrent, Libre Office, GIMP, Gwenview, KSnapshot, Okular, Amarok, Konsole, KWrite, Dolphin, K3b (could not find burning-device, will take some closer look, but do not really worry for this is the case in a virtual machine).
Some changes made to make me feel more comfortable, like the standard font for example. My first choice is Droid Sans, but you know, this is about personal choices and so not important.
Love the look and feel of the release candidate.
Finally: big thanks to all those volunteers making this all possible.

I've always seen this error at system start, no matter whether I experienced the start delay or not.

No , i am not sure at all, beside one of the attachments showing up the same message:
https://bugs.mageia.org/attachment.cgi?id=1691
Completely unrelated and also harmless (it just means your modprobe.preload*
files have some strange things in it, but it's not a big problem overall. It's
likely that the modules are just already loaded via udev and thus don't need to
be manually loaded.

I was hoping this would be fixed.
