UNSOLVED-I don't get sound on HDMI.

Postby Roamaz » Jun 27th, '24, 13:48

Hello, a few days ago I purchased an external monitor with HDMI but in MCC I only get two things (with Pipeware>Pro Audio) and with Pulseaudio (HDMI only inputs and disconnected).

I don't know how to get my hands on it anymore, I attach the result of "pactl list cards"

Thank you and greetings.

PS: on my TV you can hear the audio in pipeware and pulseaudio.

Hi there, you don't really mention what the actual problem is you're trying to solve or what the expected outcome is?
Also what does the monitor have to do with your TV ?

Also for the output, please don't put that into an attachment but directly in the post using < code > tags. And please prefix it with LC_ALL=C so that we get english output
Code: Select all
LC_ALL=C pacmd ls

The problem is that no sound comes out of the HDMI monitor-screen, I have tried it on another monitor and if there is sound, I have also tried it on Win2s and there is also sound.

What could be the solution to the problem?

You're missing some context information. Do you attach both monitors at the same time?
If not, do you connect the monitor to the graphics card or the onboard GPU ?

Repeat: I test my laptop in Mageia 8 and sound in screen HDMI works!

Laptop: HP-250-G6 i5-7200u 16Gb main screen broke.

What happens with Mageia 9, and other distros from 2023 to today?
Fedora 30, works, Opensuse 15.0, works, as well as various distributions from before 2023.

There is something strange here, so much so that the sound works for me even in Winbugs.
Greetings.

That would probably mean either changes related to kernel/alsa for your ALC3227 chipset.

You could try searching for that. Here's something similar:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=265211
https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/ ... in/75617/5

Can you please post the output as root of
Code: Select all
journalctl -ab|grep -iE "snd_hda_intel|sof|hda"
