Wayland not showing up (Mageia 9)

OK, so I have installed Wayland. So far, it seems to be working fine.

So, here's my question....if I log in manually, Plasma (Wayland) shows up as one of the choices. So far, so good.

However, if I use MCC -> boot -> autologin, Plasma (Wayland) does NOT show up as one of the choices.....only Plasma(X11) does. Is this intentional?

No auto login for Wayland appears to be distro agnostic, one work around suggested elsewhere reads like this

av8r, I convinced SDDM to default to Wayland by editing the last line of /etc/sddm.conf.d/kde_settings.conf to:
