[SOLVED] K3b will not record CDs

I don't do CDs very often but K3b would not record a CD yesterday. It complained that it could not find cdrecord. So I checked the settings and cdrecord was not there. Tried to install it, but could not find it! Not in the repos.

Did I miss something? all the other needed files are there....

Fully updated cauldron install.

cdrecord is provided by wodim in cdrkit. Check that cdrkit is installed. Check that the setting in k3b is cdrecord -> /usr/bin/wodim
Settings and packages are the same like for MGA8.

I'm pretty sure I checked all that and cdrkit was installed. I'm at work right now and will have to check again when I get home. It will be this evening (CST).

cdrkit is installed. In k3b settings, the path is correct to wodim.

OK, cd recording works now.

I opened k3b. Settings > Configure k3b > Programs > Permissions tab
Clicked the change permissions button. It asked for root's password in a dialog box. I gave it and clicked OK. Nothing seemed to happen. So I finally clicked Apply.

Tried the burn again and the CD burned perfectly. No error messages.

Not sure what I did, No indication of anything.

Yea, it does seem similar. But it let me go through the GUI k3b settings. This is the first time I've tried to burn a CD on my cauldron install. Seems like something changed somewhere...

No problems on mga8
