[SOLVED] Can't play DVD with VLC ?

Hi,
Vlc read, .avi or .ts vidéos, but he can't play movies on DVD, it start and stop.

How to fix it ?

You have a segmentation fault. It may be your really old graphic chip (12 years old). As you seem to have enabled hardware decoding, try to disable it in VLC settings.

Additionally you should try to install some additional codecs (they are normally installed at a standard installation...). You can copy the complete sequence and paste it per right click into a terminal/console. It will ask for your root password as it installs these packages.

Thank you sturmvogel,

I disable hardware decoding in VLC settings and I install the additional codecs.

Now VLC can play movies on DVD !!
