Nvidia Geforce GTS 360M

Hi

I am new to Linux. I started using Mandriva about 2 months ago and then decided to move to Mageia when everyone started raving about the distribution.

I have a Toshiba Qosmio X500 Laptop with a core i7 Q70 running at 1.6Ghz. It has 8 GB of Ram and an onboard NVidia Geforce GTS 360M.

I installed the 64 bit edition of Mageia 1 and everything seemed to go ok in the beginning. After the installation, I find that I cannot boot into KDE because the graphics are all "scrambled" if that is the right way to say it. It seems to be a graphics driver problem and I am unsure of what to do next since a am a newbie when it comes to matters linux.

Please help.

You can boot into failsafe mode, login as root, run drakx11 and switch temporarily to the Vesa driver, which should allow you to login to KDE at least.
