No software update etc in Mageia Control Centre

I noticed that while the DVD was installing some packages could not be installed. Aooarently they were important for the update function in MCC. How do I get repair manually. I tried updating the installation to no avail. Thanks

How did you notice that some packages couldn't be installed during installation?
And what DVD did you use? Have you checked it burned correctly by comparing the md5sum?

You should setup a complete set of software repositories and then do an update. This should do it:

urpmi.addmedia --distrib --mirrorlist
urpmi --auto-select --test

Please post the output of the second command.
