[SOLVED] Firefox desktop laucher / update to 6.0

Postby Canuck » Aug 24th, '11, 20:32

I installed Firefox 6 according to the Firefox instructions: tar.bz2 file Up to this point I have been using 4.0.1 which came with the initial install of Megeia Live CD, Gnome.
I can start Firefox 6 in a terminal in the Firefox folder ~/firefox/firefox

How do I create an icon to run this version. If I click on the Firefox listed in Applications, I get the old version Firefox 4.0.1
I have so far tired to place an icon on the desktop, but I do not know how. How do I set up a launcher?

Or, for KDE: right click on the desktop -> Create New -> Link to program.
But you could also wait, Firefox 5 is already available as an update and Firefox 6 is in the pipe,
will be released soon.
