[SOLVED] Japanese IME support with SCIM/Libre Office

Hi, everyone,

I tested SCIM for Japanese IME support in Mageia Beta 1 with Libre Office. It's encouraging, but not fully functional. It seems anthy is not working. I reported my findings here, if you want to take a look.

And did you try IBus (that will be the "successor" of SCIM) ?
IBus Chinese works well here with LibreO (where SCIM and OOo failed in Mandriva)

I had no idea of the existence of IBus. I managed to get SCIM working with OOo in Mandriva 2010.2, but my approach was useless with LibreOffice.
Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try.

Well, I gave iBus a try in Mageia 1 Beta 1 and I couln't get it to display any Japanese.
However, Beta 2 took care all of my problems with iBus.
