Printing pdf files [Solved]

I'm having great difficulty in printing out usable copy from pdf files. many user manuals are in pdf format, and I, along with most of the human race, find that a user manual in hard copy is much superior than an on-screen version. The difficulty here is that pdf viewers that I've found are very poor at, or have no facility for printing. Most printing out systems seem to have one of two printing utilities, one good and the other one not. The good one, as exemplified in gThumb, allows much control of the resulting printout, the other, seemingly more common, as exemplified in Okular, does not seem to offer any facility to control the paper image, or have an option to print odd or even page numbers, so cannot be used to print on both sides of the paper. In this case, Okular displays the image of a page, but prints it seemingly at half size, and that at a distressingly low speed. Adobe Reader, as I remember did a reasonable job, but is no longer available. Document Viewer, has no print option. ePDF, no print scaling option. gpdfview has the poorer of the two printing utilities. xpdf seems to be still in the Stone Age, as regards printing. Suggestions would be welcome, otherwise, I shall have to drag out the old laptop and use Windows to produce my paper copy of the manual. Surely, Linux has produced a pdf printing option that does the job.

The Gnome "Document Viewer" (AKA evince) does have a print option. Click on the File Options icon (at the right of the menu bar) and select Print. The three tabs that become available offer a range of options, including to print even or odd pages and to adjust the image size.

Okular does offer the option of printing odd or even pages, but IIRC does not allow for adjusting the image size.

Thanks, the option was not exactly obvious, but as you say, it does work. I shall have to give this application a closer appraisal. I liked the GUI, but was stuck for its printer application.
