Updating system

I am trying to update from 4.1 to 5 and before I can get 704 files I have to insert something named Core Utilities. Where does that come in?

I know I should have just got the latest ISO but I had just moved here from Ubuntu Unity where the only applications I could find didn't include the optical drive ones.
How the devil have the original Ubuntu users stuck it out?

Anyway i found a copy of Linuc Format with mageia 5 on so I will be using that. If there is someone out there who happens to know what the requirement of Core Relode was for I am still interested. But it is no longer urgent thank you.

hello Weatherlawyer

see here: https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Software_management.

just untick the 2 x CD-rom entries, and set your online media.

You are also able, if you have the space on your HDD, to copy the "media" directories from the DVD and put them on the HDD, then use those as an "install new software" source.
How-ever it is never updated, but useful if you have a dicey internet connection.

P.S. welcome back
