Installing Clementine 1.3.1[SOLVED]

I'm working through the missing dependencies

clementine: error while loading shared libraries: libGLEW.so.1.10: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[root@localhost dash]# ][/code]
a search at pkgs.org
https://pkgs.org/mageia-4/mageia-core-r ... 6.rpm.html
when I look in MCC I find a newer version

should I be using a symlink?

Yes you have to. And no need to search via pkgs.org, just use urpmf to search for filenames or parts of filenames, saves quite some time.

throws a different error now

/lib64/libcdio.so.15 points to /lib64/libcdio.so.15.0.0

Here is clementine 1.3.1 rpm what i use myself too,it's backported from Cauldron.

my present issue is the version of
libcdio.so.15
I find this

I don't find it on my system or MCC

It is built against the mga5 libraries and you don't have the issues with the missing dependencies you currently face.

how do I access the cauldron version?
I went to mcc>configure media & added testing [ core, backports, tainted, non-free, updates ] none of the debugs

I can also access from pks.org
I'm trying to understand a more direct method

No, you cannot access the cauldron package rebuilt for mga5 via pkgs.org.

But do whatever you wish, can't help you further with that, solution was already posted.

Yes it's in dropbox i don't host any real repository i don't need it myself.
You can read info from pkgs.org they rules.

I'm sure it's fine, you have been a contributor for all of Mageia history
Dok made a warning earlier in this thread [general warning about packages from unknown sources], when I brought up RPMfind

I did try to install from the file you provided
it's still missing stuff which is in Calderon, which I don't understand how to access

downloading get's me to a place where I have to figure out how to apply the build requires incantation...
I just haven't been able to make that effort to answer either of those questions myself

No everything it needs are in Mageia 5 repos please provide package name it missing ?.

your package works fine

What do you mean in particular? You can look up their version in mageia app db: http://madb.mageia.org/default/home/rel ... lication/0

And as you can't install them directly on stable releases, there's not much point in adding cauldron repos to mga5 for example.

If you just want to access them, just get them from any mirror, e.g. for core/release repo for x86_64: http://ftp.snt.utwente.nl/pub/os/linux/ ... edia/core/

while clementine is working

part of the project was to learn a bit about how to troubleshoot installing a program from a trusted outside source
when I was working through installing the dependencies for the fedora version of clementine
I encountered
https://pkgs.org/search/libechonest.so.2.3
would there be instances where one can work from a repository, instead of compiling and how to determine?

What is your actual question? What do you mean by working from a repository?

You can use e.g. urpmf libechonest.so to query all currently configured repos to see if any package contains a file with that name?

And if you want to troubleshoot the installation of a package, simply use urpmi --debug url:///path/to/packagename.rpm and read the output, urpmi will tell you why it won't install a package.

If you want to query cauldron repos, then you need to add the cauldron repos first. And next time you run an update your system will upgrade to cauldron ...

Why you don't look at the community repos :
