Upgrading graphics card

I am planning on upgrading my graphics card for an existing installation. The upgrade will retain the card type, AMD Radeon, but will upgrade from a no longer supported HD series to a supported one. Will Mageia 5 automatically pick up the new graphics card in an existing system, or do I have to re-install the OS again ?

You don't have to reinstall the whole OS, that is almost never required. Simply install the card, run drakx11 and let it install the suitable driver and then reboot.
