I think you will find that your problems stem from the fact this is not a very good PC.

the silvermont processor is an atom processor, that is designed to compete with arm.

this is bacled by these two links

http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/laptops/ ... 3ma-review

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/05/08 ... hitecture/

so you are always going to be on the backfoot so to speak performance wise.

http://www.cnx-software.com/2014/02/14/ ... x-support/

Still lets put a positive spin on this.

I was using until I bought a asus ux31a a samsung NC10 that has an atom processor, and i was using that uptil mageia 2.

that performed reasonably well, but it could have been better, on mageia 5 i think it would now be unusable.

but this is a newer generation of atom, even though it was made mostly for tablets.

So the reason for your laggy graphics could just be that the silvermonts specific graphics adapter is not yet in the kernel.

or that you have not chosen the most appropriate graphics adapter for the job, in the graphics setup.

Or it might be that mageia just does not have the baytrail support (thats a guess by the way i dont know)

http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=a ... -byt&num=1

suggests 4.1 brings support for some intel graphics have you pulled down all the updates so that you now have the latest kernel.

that last link

http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=a ... -byt&num=1

also mentions that its a N2820.

http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Celeron-N ... eron-N2820

shows the difference between the N2820 and N2840

theres absolutely nothing between them performance wise 10% at most.

Now my laptop which is also an HD4000 based graphics , and has perfect performance, but is now 2 years old, just as a comparison
is 128% faster.

so i still say, the above summary of this laptop is that its a tablet cpu in a desktop.

at best its a chromebook.

I did use until i moved from acrh linux back to Mageia kernel older than kernel 4.x have and no any these kind of problems with performance.
Are you say that laptop cannot run lxqt mini laptop desktop but can run chrome os and run fine windows 10 are you just kidding me ????.
I buy this laptop to just to watch videos play music not to play tons of 3d games.

Relax, ozky. If it's sufficient for you, why care?

As the bugreport has the workaround and the performance issues are solved, please mark the thread accordingly by editing the topic of the first post and prefix it by [DONE], thanks.

You mentioned in the bug that the workaround for graphics performance helped.
Remember, others can only help you as far as you provide information.
