Icons don't show up in appearance menu.

Hi all,

I'm not new to Linux, but am to Mageia.
I have one little problem that I can't seem to sort out myself.

I have M4, with the xfce DE installed and wanted to change my icon theme.

I've got all these themes in my /usr/share/icons file...



But they don't show up in my 'appearance' settings, look...



Does anyone know what to do?

/usr/share/icons contains all icons, those are not necessarily only icon themes and not only for XFCE.
Nevertheless I've got no clue why cheser icon theme is not displayed for selection, as you seem to have it installed.
You may need to report that as a bug, after searching if it hasn't been reported yet already: https://wiki.mageia.org/en/How_to_report_a_bug_properly


Apart from that, you probably want to either install some more [GNOME/GTK] icon themes via mageia software management,
or you can download icon themes e.g. from http://xfce-look.org/ (click on icons in the lefthand panel) and extract them into your home folder and use those.

The icon themes that are available via the mageia repositories (there may be some more, that was just a quick search)

Hi,

I've installed the Faenza icons via the Mageia repos and it was available in the menu.
So that is great.
I also downloaded the cheser icon theme and now it does show up in the menu..

Another thing is that the filemanager doesn't remember the layout I've picked.
It falls back to a list instead of the pictograms.

Also a bug?

No clue, I don't use thunar - if this is about thunar.
Best open a bugreport and ask if others can reproduce it.

And also one for the cheser icon theme.
