Morning everybody !

My name is Antoine and i'm using Linux since 5 years with dualboot until the last year when i've discovered Mageia and this community. This last one is THE reason why i stay on it (with the real stability of the distribution) and remove all Windows OS partition.
I havn't real skills on informatique, packaging or maintening. I'm just curious on everything, that's why my main contribution to Mageia is the translation of wiki's pages (fr) for trying to learn a lot, and sometime i translate on Transifex.

Hi I'm Trollboy which I've been told is an awkward name so please allow me to introduce myself.

I use that name because:

• of my appearance
• I live under a bridge
• I hate billy goats, especially gruff ones
• I can be a bit of a wind up merchant
• One or more of these facts may be false

I am a long term Debian user and distro-hopper who got bored and rolled a D100 on distrowatch. It landed on Mageia. As someone who likes stability I took the frankly courageous decision to install the beta 3 on my laptop. I also chose KDE to take me out of my Xfce comfort zone. It has only been a week but so far I am very much liking what appears to be a very polished distribution.

I have no idea how long Mageia will stay on my computers, I will usually either get bored and wander off to another new distro or scared and go back to Debian!

Hello,
I just installed Mageia from the Linux Format magazine disc.
I have been around Linux for many years now as I became disillusioned with Windows a long time ago. Don't think I'm an expert though, just the opposite but I do like the freedom and relative security that Linux gives me.
I have three hdds on my pc and my main distros in use are Peppermint 3 and 5. I did have Mint on this drive but decided to try Mageia as there was a lot of good press about it.

Hello all,

I've been using linux since 2008 and started to use Mageia on this old laptop because it is one of the few distros supporting sis video cards.
I ran into a few bugs, but it might be the fact that I upgraded to M5 already.

Anyway, so far it runs reasonable smooth on this machine, with a Intel Celeron CPU and 1 GB of ram only.

Hello Mageia community!

I would like to say that so far I am very impressed with 4.1, with RazorQt.

Goal is to set it up as a ligthweight KDE, especially with the transition to LXQT.

My journey began with Windows many years ago, which led me to my first GNU/Linux distro Slackware then Ubuntu, which I used for a few years until they switched to Unity. This started a distrohopping marathon, with some rest in between when I found distro's that I liked. This is a close chronological hopping list: Slackware, Ubuntu, Xubuntu, Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Mint, Debian, Debian Testing, Trisquel, gNewSense, Fedora, CentOS, Manjaro, Evo/Lution, Arch, Parabola, Debian, Debian Sid, openSUSE....and now Mageia. I probably left out a few other distros...Ah yes, Puppy GNU/Linux, which I still keep for liveCD private purposes.

So far I must say that 4.1 with RazorQt is very fast, even feels faster and snappier than Xfce on openSUSE. Does use more memory, however, I think it is just cacheing more since the CPU is much lower, compared to Xfce.

I look forward to upgrading to 5.0, and also helping the community. I could be available for help with copywriting, forum, artwork and other areas as well.

I'm just poppin' in, but was watched Mageia since a while.
I started my Linux experiences in the last quarter of '90s on Debian and Mandrake.
Mandrake was my favourite on desktop.
Oh, good old times with KDE1 and imwheel, and Netscape Communicator, and others...
Today I installed Mageia 5 RC, and I was surprised to get the good old Mandrake feeling in new clothes.

My name is Geraldo and I'm from Brazil. Since 2008 I was a member of Mandriva community and when Mageia 1 was released I've joined the brazilian community. I'm a history teacher at Goiás Federal Institute and currently finishing a PhD on colonial american history - writing the thesis !
