Flash image writer

I was under the impression that 'Flash image writer 'in M5 was a package that used DD and would make SD cards boot able so you could use it to make a Pi SD in fact that it was much like the red hat package. Should it be, because my one doesn't work? M5 is still a Beta so should I report it as a bug. Cheese doesn't work but I think that's a driver issue I duel-boot with M4 and chesse works in that.

What particular image did you write, what is the result and what is the actual problem?

And why post this in networking subforum?

Networking is making dissimilar computers talk together, so isn't that what flash does? without my Pi booting it can't get on the network. A bit convoluted logic but in the basic support the best fit I tried to write 'noobs' The issue is should I report the bugs are they bugs that is why I'm using M5? Everything else works it could be the release candidate.

It stopped a new bought pre- installed image working I can't tell you more the sd isn't detected and read that's a bug too at the time I didn't think of booting M4 and looking.

It's really supposed to be used for dumping an image onto a USB flash drive so isn't really expected to see the SD card. You could probably use a USB card reader with your SD card in it or you can just use dd directly from a terminal.

AAHHa that I didn't know, but I'm using a icy box which is a USB card reader so it does look like it's a usb and I was under the impression that flash sticks and SD's were similar technology, really I was kind of trying not to use command line
