Installing CHIRP from source [SOLVED]

Installing CHIRP from source [SOLVED]

CHIRP is a handheld radio transceiver management program
http://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/Download

which I downloaded & extracted
I can't seem to figure out how to install the extracted folder
no software installer comes up on right click

the fedora version acts as if it is installing...
but I'm not able to find it on kickoff launcher
http://d-rats.com/yum/f11/d-rats-repo-0 ... noarch.rpm

You cannot "install" the extracted folder via right-click. Also the rpm package you linked contains a yum repo definition, not an application.

Code: Select all
[doktor5000@Mageia4 ~]$ rpm -qpl http://d-rats.com/yum/f11/d-rats-repo-0.1.2-1.fc11.noarch.rpm
/etc/yum.repos.d/d-rats.repo


You should be able to install the actual package:
http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/ ... noarch.rpm
Just tried that, works fine and it shows up in the menu under Internet -> More
Cauldron is not for the faint of heart!
