Stuck in rescue mode

Postby megamagition » Apr 15th, '14, 17:56

I have been trying all sorts of fixes online but none of them seem to be working. Here is my situation:

I'm trying to dual boot mageia 64 bit KDE and win8.1 64bit. It shows the custom Maegia grub screen but beyond that everythign is failing. Before, it was giving me the apgart error and them promting me to enter my password for root access etc.

Then I followed the instructions here and it mostly fixed that:

Now it just plain boots into rescue mode without any reason.

My specs:
Acer Aspire V3-772G
Intel Core i7-4702mq
Nvidia Geforce GTX 760M

A likely cause is that Mageia is configured to mount your Windows partition and you have Windows 8 fast startup enabled. Try disabling fast startup in Windows (e.g. instructions here) to see if this fixes the problem.
