Parental Controls Not Working

Postby ifacedown » Jun 21st, '13, 16:17

Hello Mageia Community

I am really beginning to love KDE and Mageia in particular. Much better than most of the KDE Distros out there!

However, I am having a problem with the Parental Controls. I am using the latest version of Mageia. I enabled the Parental Controls. And set the obscenity level to "normal". However, I observed that doing this will prevent Thunderbird to connect to the email servers. By disabling this, I can connect with the mail servers again! (But KMAIL never connects in any setting. Why? My firewall settings are set to "Netbook").

Under the "Allowed Users", my default username is there. But still, I could access porn sites on Firefox. When I removed my username from the "Allowed Users", I could never the net in Firefox. But I am sure the system automatically installed the needed packages (Dansguardian, etc.), and I have restarted my computer.

The time limit also does not work.

Pls. help! Parental Controls is really important to me.

Francis.

Sorry, we don't have a maintainer for drakguard https://bugs.mageia.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=drakguard
drakguard is the package that is used when accessing Parental Control in MCC

Can you please install and start squidguard, to see whether that works better?
