I have an HP (EPSON not HP) SX535WD all-in-one wireless printer+scanner. I thought I installed the drivers and necessary software from HP (EPSON)'s website but it appears there's a problem somewhere in the configuration process because every time I need to print a document I have to do the whole installation process all over again, with a USB connector (not in wireless mode)!
The HP Linux Imaging and Printing software (HPLIP, homepage) that I have installed under Applications > Tools > System Tools, can't recognize the printer, even when it's connected via USB cable and Mageia says it has found it. How is that possible?
So I found this useful page (link: http://hplipopensource.com/node/328) dealing with a similar problem like mine, only this one's regarding a SUSE 10.3 system (Mageia is not listed among the supported distributions, but I think it's close to Mandriva 2011, right? Look here for more info.)
Can someone help me figure out how to get my user ('aliquis') accepted by Yast? Is there any Yast in Mageia, for starters?
Please see pictures in zip file and error_log.txt in the attachement.

EDIT: see correction above: not HP but EPSON printer, HP laptop. I realize now that I have installed the wrong software (HPLIP is for HP printers, not EPSON printers), therefore I uninstalled all of it from Mageia through Add/remove packages. Nevertheless, I still have problems getting any document printed. Can't get any printing job across, they all get stuck in the printing queue, with CUPS saying printer might be disconnected. I might open another thread on that issue. Many, many apologies for the mishap
