[SOLVED] Switch from KDE to Gnome

Postby beagle10 » Apr 11th, '13, 21:38

Hello,
I am new to Mageia; but used Debian based Linux for a while. A few days ago, I installed Mageia3.
I want to switch to Gnome. I installed Gnome meta package. Instructions found on Mageia wiki suggests switching to Gnome by going to 'Graphical Desktop' menu.
My problem is that I do not see 'Graphical Desktop' listed in my Menu items. Thanks in advance for your help.

Don't know what you mean by Graphical Desktop menu. just logoff, and in the login manager you can select the session.
Just select Gnome there, and login again. The login manager will remember this, and the same way you can switch back to KDE.

Really appreciate your super fast response.
Found the desktop change icon (a paper with yellow pencil icon) in the login screen. Thanks,
