Apache rewrite module (for a manual Drupal install)

Postby simonhoare » Feb 19th, '13, 09:00

In the context of a manual installation of Drupal, I tried to use
Code: Select all
a2enmod rewrite

Unfortunately for me, this debianism works no magic in Mageia.

So how do you set up this module and what is the equivalent of Debian's /etc/apache2/sites-available/default file?

While it is of course possible to set up Drupal very simply via the repos, I would like to learn how to do it the manual way.

mod_rewrite is included "out of the box" with the apache package

It is enabled by default. If you want to disable it comment out the appropriate line in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
