Xfce as a main desktop choice?

Postby simonhoare » Feb 17th, '13, 22:59

After a brief stint on Mageia 2 last year, Cauldron is now installed as my main system.

Installation this weekend was "eventful" - and I will open more bug reports asap.

Any plans for an Xfce version or a direct Xfce option in the DVD?

I think that was already fixed: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3718

So does this mean in beta 3 there will be a choice on the DVD between Gnome, KDE, Xfce, LXDE, other desktops?

That's fantastic news.

Well, it will be in the individual package selection, where it was before, if i understood correctly.
Check the attachment from the bugreport, it shows a screenshot: Image

How it is in your screenshot is how it should be.

In the other screen, a user is tasked with unticking the other additional DEs like E17. Not good.

This was moved by an admin from the Wizard's lair, presumably because it concerns Cauldron. Since it was really me just saying "hi", I'm not sure what I'd call it :-)

You are correct, it was moved for the reason you mention.
Probably you make a new introduction in the Wizard's Lair, would be nice, thank you! :)
