I find that turning screen-lock off in the screen-saver settings does the job. Is that what you're looking for?

Um, yeah, must have been frustrated when I wrote that. So I changed it.

What I want is to be able to use screensaver without having to use my password every time to return to desktop. Attached is a screenshot of current settings. Even though 'Require password after xxx seconds' is not selected it does anyway.
