[SOLVED] Grub Error

Postby saptech » Nov 28th, '12, 01:54

Monday I did updates and saw Grub was going to be updated to version 0.96 or whatever the latest is. I didn't reboot at that point to test it.

Today (Tues.) we had a power outage and the power came back on immediately. When I turned the computer on, grub stopped at message, Grub stage 1.5 or whatever it had, and wouldn't continue to boot. I'm not sure what exactly caused it but I assume it was the latest grub.

Since I didn't have another Linux distro installed and couldn't boot into Win7, all I was able to do was using the M3A2 livecd to try and reinstall Grub but wasn't able to. I ended up reinstalling A2, since it was the latest disc I have.

Just thought I would mention this.

Comment 8 seems to be the solution. It is not necessary to re-install the OS.
