Just a thought but if the developers don't know of the problem it's unlikely to get fixed.

It seems I'm having the same issue, since update to kernel 3.6.6 or whatever the latest kernel, I'm not able to boot into M3A2. It will boot to grub and I see the options to boot mga or win7 but choosing any mga options it starts but then seems to die out. The monitor small LED light will start blinking and the hard drive stops.

I noticed this happening today but I believe I added updates Wed. or Thurs...I didn't reboot until today. I installed M3A2 Tues/Wed night.

Any ideas suggestions?

Thnx.

Glad to hear it. Good job Mga team!

What I didn't mention earlier in my first post, it looked like I saw a Virtualbox kernel being installed during the latest update before the issue occurred. Since I didn't install VB, would that have caused the problem? Just curious.

What is the best way to update? Reinstall, since I do have a separate / & home partitions?

Thnx.

Well, the updates didn't help, same issue. Only thing about a kernel I saw, once I got my network going in Safe-Mode, was a kernel firmware. Is that what you mean by new kernel?

So I decided to go ahead and install Mga2 from the LiveCD Gnome version. It installed okay but the resolution is terrible. It's showing it's at 640x480 or so. I went into the Display module to change it but it didn't offer any other choices. I fired up MCC and tried to change it, there was other options to choose but they didn't keep what I chose.

Not sure why the install didn't pick a better resolution, since on my other system, it did, using the same monitor. I know Mga is mostly a KDE distro but this was pretty disappointing for me.

Thnx.

I decided to do a reinstall yesterday also. I think I'll wait a few days before doing any updates as you mention.

What current kernel are you using now? It seems when the last update my problem started, I thought it was at kernel 3.6.6, but not certain.

Thnx.

I am at the stage where I have upgraded from a boot.iso about a week old, but it still hangs at saying either going multi or going graphical, I have forgotten which. That would be after the 3 updates you mentioned. Sounds as though a complete reinstall now would fix it. I am keeping Mga 2 as my mission critical system.

The reinstall (from the Alpha2 DVD) didn't fix anything. I have added my account to Bug 7472.
