No menu entry for Calligra / 2manDVD

Postby bvpainter » Oct 30th, '12, 16:29

(SOLVED) have just installed Calligra from the repository, but it does not appear in my applications menu. Does the fact that I also have LibreOffice installed have any bearing on this ?

I also installed 2manDVD and the same applies.

Do I have to manually edit the applications to get these two applications to appear ?

No, you don't.
Which desktop environment are you using?

Bvpainter,
I installed Calligra and 2ManDVD in Mageia 2, and the icons were automatically created in "Application Launcher Menu".

What about Calligra?

FWIW, please note that some applications, depending on the toolkit they use (GTK/QT or others) and depending
on the desktop you use will be in the "More" submenu. So if you are using KDE, f.ex. GTK programs like Pidgin, Transmission, Exaile, Chrome,
Simple Scan will always be in the "More" submenu. If you would be under GNOME it would be the other way round, as you can see
for Calligra on macxi's screenshots.

I did not realise that you have to install all the different modes separately. I had only installed the Core part.
