[SOLVED] TP Link WN721

[SOLVED] TP Link WN721

Postby Max » Oct 22nd, '12, 17:32

I bought a new USB dongle: TP Link WN721.
Before I open it and make it impossible to return to the store, has anybody ever successfully gotten this to work in Mga 2?
Does anybody know what needs to be done to get it to work?
Thanks.

SHOULD be possible using the ath9k_htc driver, from looking up the device on http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Dri ... tc/devices
The firmware is contained in kernel-firmware-nonfree:
Code: Select all
[doktor5000@Mageia2 ~]$ urpmq -l kernel-firmware-nonfree | grep ar9
/lib/firmware/ar9170-1.fw
/lib/firmware/ar9170-2.fw
/lib/firmware/ar9271.fw

Basically you'd only need to install the firmware, and run drakconnect.
Cauldron is not for the faint of heart!
Caution: Hot, bubbling magic inside. May explode or cook your kittens!
