I can't get the KDE liveCD to boot.
First there is a graphical screen which is up for a maximum of 2 seconds, to select the monitor resolution and, I think, the language. But as it is white lettering on a white background, my old eyes find it almost impssible to read with it being up so briefly.
Next is what appears to be the start of a text boot, again for only a second or so. This is normal for a liveCD.
Finally, up comes the mageia splash screen, the one with 'mageia' and a row of dots. As soon as that appears, it stops booting. No further hard drive activity. I have waited about 20 minutes in case it resumed, but it doesn't.
The computer is locked, and I have to do a hard shut down.
I have tried three downloads from different mirrors, and four burns to disk. Every time it is the same.
There has been the suggestion of booting with 'nomodset', but I can't see anywhere of adding this command.
I don't know if this is another example of "the bug", but I thought it may be of interest.
Any suggestion of how to get it to boot, will be gratefully received.
Many thanks.
Cheers.
