Which packages did you install, and how big are the PDF files for which the preview does not show?
Normally this does not need any additional packages, but you need to enable previews explicitly for PDF files in dolphin,
and also maybe adjust the settings for previews in general, regarding the filesizes.

In dolphin, check Settings -> Configure Dolphin -> General -> Previews -> enable previews for "PostScript-, PDF- and DVI-files" and check file-sizes
below there for Local files, Then it should work when you put dolphin in preview mode, and you should get bigger previews on mouseover.

Doktor5000,
I did not know this configuration option.
Now I also set up a preview of various file formats in Dolphin.
Thanks for the tip

Note: I organized these tips in the Forum MageiaBrasil

Jose,

Are you using the "Mageia 1" or "Mageia 2"? If you are using Mageia 2, with KDE, when you open the Dolphin, you need to select, on the toolbar: "icons" and "preview". Are you doing it and still does not appear? What image format? Is the picture too big?

Can you open these same images with other software like Gwenview, KolourPaint, or Gimp? Has your user permission to open these files? If these files are owned by another user, as root, you can not preview these images. You need to change the permissions before.

@Jose: "It doesn't work" is not an exact problem description ;)

Please provide more details, which we already asked for, like for what filetypes, and what size are those files,
and which file sizes did you set in the preview settings?
