Sure. I'll try it later but since yesterday I cannot open ubuntu.com or launchpad.net... Does somebody know why is that?
tom_ wrote:you can easily change the file type and then it should work,
but you said it didn't work for you
I'm starting to think the image you have downloaded is not working... have you checked its md5?

$ md5sum Mageia-2-x86_64-DVD.iso

Reading the thread the solution was in the second post.tammerlane wrote:I addressed this issue many months ago. There is NO interest in this forum for helping anyone to install Mageia from Windows. ...........Why not learn a lesson from Ubuntu, Mint etc., and make easier to install. And perhaps you should remove the SOLVED label - since you only pretended to solve it.

tammerlane wrote:And then isadora says to mark the post SOLVED, which it was not (IT was even difficult to figure out how to do that - and no one in the forum sayed how to mark the post solved. once again you guys expected the reader to figure it out.) .

You can do so by editing the title in the first post.Pre-fix the title with [SOLVED].
tammerlane wrote:And then tom says to file a bug report - the most helpful suggestion so far. Of course you expected the reader to figure out how to do this
tom wrote:if you want to help the disto, you could also open a bug report following these guidelines describing what you saw
