software management freeze

I go to MCC and want to select the full sources . It starts dowloading hdlist and then freezes and asks to terminate.What do I do?

first try that :

Open a console then type the following line one by one:
(the first one will ask for root password)

Code: Select all
su -
urpmi --auto-update


and put the result here please

Sorry to hear that. I had my share of problems with Mageia2 but none that kept me from getting it going.

First X, then network, but after that it is really solid. When I first ran Linux, first time ever...I installed it and played with it to see how long it took to mess it up...not long when you try :)

Anyway, you may make notes and try again and see what happens. Bad RAM can cause a serious assortment of problems.

You may just have a bad burn of the ISO...I wish you luck.

Thanks. I am back on M2 and things seem to work better now that display can be fixed with the button on the screen.
I still cannot get the sources for updates. I keep getting an error message but I think most things work except Kmail. I can live without it but would like to recuperate some of my mails.
