Synthesis not updating ?

Since I've installed mga2, I don't receive any updates. urpmi keeps telling me everything is up-to-date. When you look at the mirrors, you see that there are new packages (especially for the desktop artwork issue) but the synthesis are still old. I looked at belnet and distrib-coffee mirrors (FTP URLs on http://mirrors.mageia.org)

Well, at least belnet was disabled because it didn't update properly, take a look at the bottom of http://mirrors.mageia.org/mirrors/ftp.belnet.be
Where did you look for the synthesis hdlists? F.ex. ftp://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr/pu ... edia_info/ was updated after the updates were uploaded, so everything seems in order ...

I've checked a few days ago and I'm pretty sure belnet and disrib-coffee x86_64 and i586 were not up-to-date. It's not true anymore for i586 (your link), but still true for x86_64 : ftp://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr/pu ... edia_info/

You are looking at the wrong directory. /media/media_info, usually, is not changed from what it was when originally created. To see the current hdlists you need to drill down into the repo, for example to /media/core/updates/media_info:

ftp://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr/pu ... edia_info/

This has been updated and it is this that is used for locating packages to update.

(The files in /media/media_info are actually symlinks to the files in the respective repo's.)
