DShelbyD,

I've installed the Mageia Beta2.
I need to download the Mageia RC or just update the Beta 2?
Cheers!

If you uses urpmi --auto-update (or the updater in MCC) you are already at "RC"
You can also download the DVD to test installer if you want.

The main reason for RC is to test the complete distribution, especially the install process. See last part of the blog post:
How does the upgrade feel like, starting from Mandriva Linux 2010.1 and 2010.2 to Mageia 1 RC?
Are your computers and peripherals properly recognised and handled by Mageia?
How does the installation process feel like to you?

So, yes, if you follow updates regularly your system is on the same status as RC, but for testing purposes a fresh installation is recommended.

Wobo,
Ok. I'll wait for the torrent and do the installation tests.
The installation Mageia Beta2 here was ok.
Cheers! :)

I'm running the RC x64 as we speak. Very impressed, everything works and is quite snappy. I had to use Mandriva's mirror to install Sun java, which I know is not condoned, but it is now disabled and all is well. Thanks for a great distro!

Sun java is available in the Mageia nonfree repo.
