Grub 2 may be included in Mageia 3. No decision has been made yet on the specifications for Mageia 3.

I too am wanting to have grub2. But the big project for Mageia 2 was systemd. And I really appreciate that they limit upgrades to one big project at a time because it lessens the probabily of something going terribly wrong with upgrades. But now that systemd is in place, it would be nice to get grub2 up and running with Mageia 3. And out beyond that we have things like /usr merge and wayland coming up eventually. Each of those will be an all consuming project for a given release. I really hope the pattern of only one major project at a time continues, because, as much as I want all of these new architectures, I am not willing to see system stability and dependability sacrificed for accellerated technology uptake. - George
