EPSON Expression 836XL SCSI Scanner don't work in Mageia 2

Postby CharlieBros » May 23rd, '12, 21:28

Hi!,
Today I installed Mageia 2 (64 bits) with KDE from the DVD.
I don't have another problems, everything works perfect, except one of the most important things that I need; the scanner.
The scanner is a flat-bed EPSON Expression 836XL connected via SCSI to a PCI card Adaptec AHA-2940.
I doesn't have any problem in OpenSUSE, Ubuntu, Archlinux, Debian or Fedora.
lspci don't show the card and subsecuently, the scanner is not detected.
Any answers?.

Mmm, this is strange...
I rebooted and now the scanner is detected!.
I swear that the first 3 reboots the system didn't find the scanner.

Did you run both commands as root or as normal user?
What about xsane or simple-scan or skanlite, do the work or not?

BTW: Normally you should post such output here so people can have a look, but please use Code-Tags for that:
