[SOLVED] kmail is always offline

Postby akolychkine » May 13th, '12, 11:25

Hi, All!

I have installed Mageia 2rc on laptop ASUSF3KE. I use wireless connection. KMail always prompts to go online when sending or receiving messages. It is possible to use it, but not convenient.

The problem is well described in KDE bugs https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=294441 but for ArchLinux. As far as could understand, the problem is that KDE looks for the connection on eth0 interface (which is virtually never enabled in my case), but not on wlan0. So, KMail just thinks, that there is no connection to the internet. There could be the same problem for other KDE applications, which need internet connection, but I haven't tried them yet.

How could I make KDE consider the wireless connection as a valid one?
