Cannot find or install XBMC

Postby tizza42 » May 12th, '12, 15:51

hi, I just loaded Mageia on an Acer Aspire One D270. I was hoping to see if I could run XBMC on it, but when I search for XBMC in package installation, the search results return zero. I have tried to manually run an rpm I downloaded, but it is complaining about dependencies.

I have update the repositories, but no luck - no XBMC in sight - any ideas? I did note that during the installation process some packages were removed based on the machine's hardware configuration...

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Did you set the online package repositories? xbmc is in the core repository.

Go into the MCC -> software management and use the tool there to set a "Complete set". Don't forget to remove the local media from the list.

thanks Wobo - I have done that - it just does not show XBMC - I'm suspecting it was one of the many packages that was removed during the installation process. So far I haven't had anyone with my machine saying that have XBMC running on Mageia...

Even it it would have been removed (this is not one of the packages that gets removed) you can always reinstall it.
Please show the output when running
Code: Select all
urpmq --list-media active
and
Code: Select all
urpmq --list-url
in a terminal
