(SOLVED) Problem in today's updates

Postby jaywalker » Apr 28th, '12, 03:45

I get this message from rpmdrake when I try to update alsa-utils:
Code: Select all
Sorry, the following package cannot be selected:

- alsa-utils-1.0.25-2.mga2.x86_64 (due to unsatisfied Requires(preun):)

Does anyone know what this means? Google is no help, or I don't understand the results it listed:)

Do you think there is something missing from the message? - apart from a human-sensible reason.

I'm seeing the same thing on several packages.
A search finds that preun is preuninstall so it looks like a packaging error where the new package doesn't uninstall the older version so can't be installed.

When things like this happen in Cauldron I usually wait a day before posting a bug report.

Good idea. In fact the package has just been re-released and the new update installed just fine.
