[SOLVED] HP USB Headset mic

Postby linuxero » Mar 15th, '12, 19:44

Hi guys;

Always on the forum as usual :)

I've bought these USB HP headset. Strangely enough; they are perfectly detect , I can hear through them, but the mic doesn't seem to work. I tried the sound recorder, Skype and recordmydesktop; none can record the voice through them.

Where I bought them they assured me that they worked well in Ubuntu.

Any suggestion?

Update: I tried them on Mandriva and Fedora. They work perfectly. In Mandriva, though, the module used to configure them is kbd while in Mageia is snd_usb_audio or somethinf like that!!

How can I change that?

Thanks ahead.

Have you tried to select the microphone of the headset as an Input device in pavucontrol or via the means of your desktop environment?
IIRC all the applications you mentioned don't allow selecting a specific input device.

Not in pavucontrol but yes I tried the same way I did in Mandriva and Fedora. It is recognised, in the voice recorder it shows a signal when I talk, but voice is not received!
