Flash Plugin

Postby melchizedek » Jan 26th, '12, 11:54

Morning ladies and gents,

Just installed Mageia on my laptop (latest stable), and I appear to be having a few Flash Player problems. I installed the latest Flash plugin from the non-free repo (flash-player-plugin 11.1.102.55 and flash-player-plugin-kde 11.1.102.55 ), but when I try to full screen some youtube clips, it won't correctly full screen. What happens is: it fills Firefox's main window, but the KDE panel and the top of Firefox are still visible. (See attached screencap.) As a solution, I've tried opting into HTML5 (full screen mode not very good), installing an older and newer version of Flash (same problem), and un-installing "nspluginwrapper" (no difference). The only way I can get it to full screen is to hit F11 in Firefox -- which for some reason -- as well as getting rid off the top of Firefox, also gets rid of the KDE panel. The only problem with using this method is: Flashplayer then freezes for a few seconds, then runs, then freezes again, etc.

Any ideas?

Mel

You're sure this is played with flash-player-plugin? If you right-click on the video, you should get a context menu, and the last option at the bottom should be
"About Adobe Flash Player 11.1.102.55". Is that the case? Or maybe you just clicked on "Maximize" instead of "Full Screen" ?

Otherwise you've checked our MAQeia for Flash Player plugin? viewtopic.php?f=36&t=880
Especially the following link given there: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Can ... h%20videos

Are you using any desktop effects or some kind of 3D desktop like compiz?
