Documentation?

Postby dotmil » Dec 17th, '11, 22:05

Hey all, I'm trying to work on getting up to speed on the Mageia way of doing things. I know many of the Mandriva docs are obvious carryovers for now at least. Being totally unfamiliar with the resources available though, I was wondering if someone could suggest some good docs to read for a very experienced (system admin) level user to get under the hood. Specifically, the *drake tools, MCC, installer, etc.

My reason for asking is that I'd like the ability to know some of whats going on to help me know if something I run into is a bug or PEBKAC and if a bug, where to start tracking it down. I'm one of those poor saps who likes to provide the fix (or at least A fix) to bug reports when I file them. Any in fo or pointers would be welcome as much of what I find seems to be entry level info.

Currently there is no such documentation, because it has to be migrated/produced:
https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Migrating_Ma ... _to_Mageia

So basically, as only the artwork/some translations changed, you can still read up on Mandriva documentation: http://doc.mandriva.com/index.php
Also feel free to ask in IRC if you're unsure about something, seems best-fitted for your particular purpose for getting up to speed :)

Thanks! The guys in IRC in the mentoring channel were very helpful last night as well. Its a bit of a learning curve coming from my background, but looks like it will be well worth it!
