I have ASUS laptop with Nvidia card GT 540M. I installed Mageia, it installed Intel driver (why?). Everything worked, but after i installed Nvidia drivers, x-server wont start. How do i restore intel driver? And why it wont use nvidia chip?

From the console run drakx11
You will get a text based configurator for your graphics. Letting it choose the default should restore the correct driver for your card.

How did you install the Nvidia driver?
Mageia will install the proprietary drivers for you if you go through the graphics GUI so long as you have the 'non free' repository enabled. Reboot after installing the proprietary driver.

How did you install the Nvidia driver?.

This laptop has 2 craphic chips. Seems Mageia only detects Intel.

This worked fine with other distros.

What's the pc model?
Does it have in the bios an option to choose only one graphic chip?
I have this option in my Acer notebook, hence I have no problems in running the same Nvidia card!
