Wireless Won't Connect AR5001

Wireless Won't Connect AR5001

Postby Nobody2 » Nov 17th, '11, 05:48

My atheros ar5001 sees all the wireless networks in the area including my own but will not connect to my router. I have tried the ath5k native driver but no luck. I tried a new ath5k driver from wireless kernels.org but same problem. I then blacklisted the ath5k and installed a ndiswrapper driver but same problem. It work flawlessly with the ath5k driver in Mandriva 2010. I know my router is good because I am typing this on my macbook which is connected to the same router. I have not tried the madwifi driver yet. Has anyone had success with the madwifi driver? Any help would be appreciated.

Is networkmanager installed or used? Please post the output of
Code: Select all
rpm -qa | grep networkmanager
or simply remove all of the listed packages, if there are any.

No extra network packages are installed. Just using the network center in mcc which has always worked without a problem.
