kernel 6.19

Postby daniewicz » Mar 8th, '26, 02:30

I am currently running Mageia 10 alpha on a Dell XPS laptop.

How soon until we see the 6.19 kernel?

Probably won't see it unless it gets backported. 6.18.x is the LTS kernel and is probably what it stays at, unless you keep running Cauldron.

MGA 10 alpha is actually Cauldron at the moment.

Well that is unfortunate.

The laptop has a Intel Lunar Lake audio controller which is not supported by the 6.18 kernel.

Why do you think so? It is supported since 6.4. There were some regressions with 6.17 and early 6.18 releases but it should be working.

For some recent reports, check e.g.

Yeah that was my guess ;) Always check you have alsa-sof-firmware installed and if it's current.

As morgano mentioned, you should report that as a bug that it doesn't work with our package, along with at least the output of lspcidrake -v
