Alternatively, why are they absorbed in hew equipment that they have had 18 months to install, and now they see Release 10 as bottom priority. Any product that has no plan and whose motto is "We release when we feel like it" cannot survive. You are living in a fantasy world like the death-throes of Mandriva. You have no iddea how to run a business. Despite 25 years of loyalty.I wouldn't risk kinvesting in Mageia. There are plenty of alternatives nowadaysthat have a valid business plan..
I note that you signed up 2011.
If you have received an updated package for any Mageia install in that time, you have not been ignored.
If you want to run a Magiea 10 install, nothing is stopping you, You will just have to LEARN to install via a net-install.iso method. You will also have to work around large regular updates ( in excess of 1GB ), and also deal with the aftermath with broken applications and then any new updates having incompatible library requirements.
In March 2022, one of the companies that generously host Mageia servers had a cooling failure. Note the phrase "Generously Host".
Since that time, Mageia team members have been trying to find other generous companies to host the Mageia Servers. At least one company has accepted our pleas for help. The existing servers needed to removed from the prior host and installed at the new host address. Access to both sites requires co-ordinating with the host companies. You cannot just turn up, knock on the door and say "I've come to remove / install the Mageia hardware".
As they were due for an upgrade, the option to upgrade was made. Unfortunately, you cannot just buy the servers from your local computer hardware shop. The servers needed the maximum RAM and Drive capacity that Mageia could afford. They needed to be built by a dedicated supply company. Specifications needed to be agreed upon, quotes requested, given and accepted. Depending on the contents of that statement, there could be many iterations of quote requested and responses received. All of these things take time.
Currently one dedicated server is a users own equipment, hosted in their own home , waiting for the new hardware to be installed.
The Mageia team are all volunteers, and have real lives. To do the above, they need to create time from their " work to earn money to live " lives .
I guess you don't know how to run a not-for-profit organization.
