lvm2 in Mageia 9

I would like to set up lvm2 prior to doing a full (re)install with Mageia 9; does the full install disk offer this capacity, or do I need to find some other way to do the setup prior to the actual install? thanks for any and all help on this!

Hi there, you can do that during the installation, should not matter if you use a live media or regular installer, just select custom partitioning - although it's not really intuitive.

First, create a partition for the PV that you want to use with the size that you want, of type "linux logical volume manager".
Then click that partition and on the right side click "add to LVM", then you get to select the VG name.
Then you select that VG as new drive, and you can create LVs like you want.
Cauldron is not for the faint of heart!
Caution: Hot, bubbling magic inside. May explode or cook your kittens!
