Count your Mageia installation on Linux-Hardware.org

Postby linuxbuild » Dec 5th, '20, 21:33

Too few installation probes of Mageia. Let’s participate by hw-probe package:

Code: Select all
su
urpmi https://github.com/linuxhw/hw-probe/releases/download/1.5/hw-probe-1.5-Mageia5.noarch.rpm edid-decode
hw-probe -all -upload

In the future, we’ll be able to plot statistics report like it was done for ROSA Linux if the sample size reaches the required minimum size.

Thanks to all!

applet integrated into the GNOME desktop works; on the minus side it means that attempting to configure your network connection via the MCC does not work. Use the drop-down menu accessible from the top right corner of the GNOME desktop to perform any necessary network configuration.

Glad to find you once again in Mageia too, Linuxbuild. In short, I use Mageia 8 on Thinkpad T430. I followed your instruction but it was failed. However, I managed to register my hardware and here is my Mageia hardware probe link https://linux-hardware.org/?probe=9a5ad3016a. Thank you very much!

My workaround is to use the AppImage (downloaded from here https://github.com/linuxhw/hw-probe/releases) and run the command lines:

Code: Select all
$ chmod +x the-file-name.AppImage
$ sudo ./the-file-name.AppImage -all -upload
Probe for hardware ... Ok
Reading logs ... Ok
Uploaded to DB, Thank you!
